By reading scouting in the light of the Gospel, he sheds a new light on it which gives strength and deepness to the most simple and daily gestures.

To Father Sevin, the scouting spirituality is not disembodied; it is a dialogue with Jesus, service to others, joy of living, commitment to a brotherly world. Ninety years later, in his Address to Catechists, Pope Francis is offering a similar way. He is inviting us “to always start anew with Christ, to be close to Him, to imitate Him by leaving ourselves behind and  going out to encounter others, not to be afraid to go with Him to the outskirts, for he walks with us, he goes ahead of us”. Still today, Father Sevin’s inspiration keeps on feeding the human and spiritual commitment of men and women, gathered all over the world around the Cross potent, the Holy Cross of Jerusalem.

He was declared Venerable in the eyes of the Church on May 10, 2012.
